Spend a few days riding around San Francisco, for which the Giro Frisco Coat is made, and you'll come to understand the many details that make it the right coat for the job. Of course, you immediately notice that the jacket is stylish, which will keep you cool in the eyes of your fellow city dwellers. That's because it's made of a DWR-treated, densely-woven cotton fabric that was originally developed to keep fighter pilots alive in case of emergency landings at sea. This means it will have no problem fending off the wind, occasional rain, and the wild swings in temperature for which the Bay Area is known. The interior is lined with a lightweight polyester mesh that helps it breathe, making it much more comfortable when you do work up a bit of a sweat. It also has an adjustable hood, a deployable reflective strip in back, a full metal zipper, two front hand pockets, and snap cuff closures. We dig the elbow patches, too.
